Refundee is entering an important transition. After four years of strong performance-led growth, customer acquisition costs have increased sharply and the business now needs senior leadership to reset the growth system, rebuild trust signals, and expand channels beyond paid.
We are looking for a hands-on Fractional CMO who can operate as their Chief Growth Officer working closely with the founders and the Head of Growth to build and execute a rounded growth strategy over the next 4–6 months, with the potential to extend depending on progress.
This is not a pure coaching or advisory role. We’re looking for someone who can think at CMO level and deliver at operator level, working 1–2 days per week.

What you’ll work on
1. Diagnose and rebuild the growth engine
- Analyse what’s driving the spike in CAC and where the funnel is losing trust or efficiency.
- Identify the short-term fixes and the long-term structural changes needed.
- Reset the company’s growth plan with clear priorities for the next 6–12 months.
2. Build the brand and category narrative
- Define a simple, compelling brand story that reduces friction across every customer touchpoint.
- Strengthen trust signals, proposition clarity, and customer confidence in a sensitive, regulated category.
- Ensure this narrative connects the product, website, PR, content, and performance channels.
3. Improve conversion performance
- Review and optimise key landing pages, user flows, and claims journeys.
- Lead or guide CRO experiments that meaningfully improve application and submission rates.
